  • This small museum, located beside the shrine of the Sacred Mount of Varese, comes from the generous donation of Baron Boltrafio, with its collection of Flemish, a subject both sacred and profane. In this collection there are the remains of the Romanesque Sanctuary from its Mannerist altar and sacred furnishings makeover, and an outstanding collection of contemporary sacred art by Matisse and Rouault, from Guttuso to Pericle Fazzini, up to Sajjan, collected by Mons. Macchi, Archpriest of the shrine. A visit is imposed if you have half an hour. There is also a crocodile "caught" in n near Alpine Lake in the late 19th century, a unique curiosity.
