Lake Varese bicycle trail, Varese

(4.3/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
A glacial lake, Lake Varese is fed by a handful of lakes and streams that snake their way down from the nearby mountains. Lake Varese bicycle trail is a well-maintained and clearly marked path that circles the lake and measures 24 km (15 mi). Rent a bike at one of the many rental points along the shore, or head out for a leisurely stroll. Stop for ice cream or a refreshing drink, and take in the views of the lake and mountains beyond. Drinking fountains are located around the lake for your convenience. Though most of the path is flat, it is not paved, and there are a few rocky and uphill patches, so a mountain bike is recommended if you choose to cycle. • As a habit we do quite often this itinerary, entire by bicycle, on foot, nice, relaxing quiet. This season better by terraced parking baco bugughiate towards gavirate sunnier and warmer. A stop at the bar in gavirate, plenty of sunshine and a good hot coffee .... In the winter and freezing temperatures! Or even a nice snack I would recommend opening a bar to cazzago brabbia-bodio a little lacking that stretch and think that there was a cute little Villa property barons, then closed, too noble owners to keep this lovely place! What a pity. Comunwue the track is ' to do, redo, too good with clear days then ... The spectacle of the mountains that surround us is ' priceless come and see it. ... Without going somewhere

  • Did the round the Lake on foot. Beautiful colors, with the snow and the Sun the views were outstanding. Possibility to stop for refreshment, coffee services. Excellent indication every 500 meters of the route taken. Very relaxing and effective.

  • I was staying at the Equirelais in Bodio for business trips and on the advice of the reception I walked the cycle path in the direction of Capolago/Varese. Even though it was late afternoon with a cold, I was well covered, I took courage and I left. Path well marked and signposted but everything covered with snow from the previous day, fortunately not ice cream. Some parts of the trail are immersed in the Woods the other line at certain points is the way that fields, a few parts that come close to the Lake. Seeing as it was lowered at night (before Schiranna) reverted backward toward the Equirelais and accompanied by light snow pile and I traveled well. The only place where I've hit the Lake, during my ride was the lido Bodio from which you could well distinguish the opposite shore and watch the swans. To make sure during the day (maybe better) to enjoy with light the path in contact with nature and the surrounding landscape. From a first impression the track is not very wide to allow both to cyclists than to pedestrians adequate security and peace of mind in case of inattention. Still recommended. My observation is related only to a portion of approximately 7 km. January 11, 2016.
