  • The Isabella Morra literary Park was established to raise awareness of the life and poetry of this young poet of the 16th century, whose life's work was highly appreciated by Benedetto Croce. Is basically a "sentimental" path that winds through the narrow streets of the medieval village of Valsinni to get to the Castle, home of Morra and the young Isabella, that only 25 years he paid with his life, his love for freedom and poetry. The visit to the castle is free of charge (only 2 Euro) but it is a must to know in detail the tragic events of the Park Guide young poet, murdered by Decius, Fabio and Caesar, justifying their heinous crime with non-existent "reasons of honour". The story of Isabella and the reading of his poems fascinate, moving and lead to profound reflections on male violence on women which remains still in our affluent western society so much from having to invent the crime of "feminicide". The Isabella Morra literary Park is a cultural Pearl of the South that's known and promoted.

  • characteristic village very nice and full of interesting views and streets where time stands fermato...in mostly uninhabited, many live in comfortable flats, it is not recommended for elderly and who doesn't he walks well. Many stairs and climbs. Nice Castle and its history.

  • It is certainly worth spending a night in the ancient village of Valsinni with final dinner. The recommended route is the arrival in Valsinni (upon entering the country at the first intersection turn right and agree to take the road which takes you up to the Castle) at 19.00 approx so you can visit the village freely and follow the guided tour of the Castle and the telling of the story of the poet Lucan Isabella Morra (20.00 hours) by a guide prepared and very "unique" in vintage dress. Next stop is the show (always different change of season ... in this regard, recommend you take a look at the site of the pro loco), held in the small theater in the Woods (21.00 hours) staged by local kids really good and last but not least, dinner at one of the charateristic which in itself is also a show by the inclusion of Minstrels singing , sound and "drink" between tables:-) A really rich and entertaining evening which I highly recommend.

  • The place would be a small "Castle" lost in the South ... so insignificant, but thanks to a very passionate and prepared guide makes this place special. Each municipality or area that aims to become a tourist must have such a person. If you're in the area stop by.

  • Enjoys an amazing view. An ancient mansion completely restored in recent times after the family of the current owner, at the beginning of the last century they purchased as a ruin from natural descendants of noble owners. The current owners live in a wing of the Castle, leaving much of the same to the enjoyment of the public who wish to visit it with a guide that explains so much the past history of this charming Manor.

  • Interesting discovery of the poetess Isabella Morra. Special thanks to the Guide Rosario and his passion and expertise. Even the village in addition to the castle is very pretty.
