  • Beautiful discovery among the Euganean Hills, this garden of Villa Barbarigo. A Pearl of green tourism. An incredible amount of boxwood plants, shaped in every way and form. Very nice the Central Avenue with aquatic pools and fountains. Visit to do calmly, savoring every corner, you will spend 1-2 hours and you feel like you've done yoga. Avoid the next days in rainy periods, you won't be able to walk the labyrinth (closed) and other non-sunny walkways, moreover you pay equal without reductions.

  • I visited the gardens of villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio on 19 January 2018. Taking advantage of a rare cloudless winter day this month that the grazing light gives greater prominence than in hot stuff and way too bright holiday season, I showed up at the first opening to the public. I had taken from some news then turned out to be inaccurate information about the opening hours, which is why I recommend for those who intend to enjoy this wonder of call numbers listed and agree the visit itself, while making in periods outside the normal opening hours. Received by the one who is qualified to be the Chief gardener, exquisitely courteous manner and competence person Botany second only to that which transpired to be a loving passion for "his creation" garden, I started visiting This creation of genius not only of our Renaissance. "Botanist" since the garden of villa Barbarigo has in its genesis and in its structure a meaning so profound and ancient to embody the very essence of human nature, his sense of life, of his pain for getting lost in distractions that take away from the pursuit of its purpose first and last, that is, the full realization of his being. Say that probably won't mean anything, but making the visit according to the scheme recommended by the guides can be a real journey of asceticism that he intends to purify the human race from its weakness and indecision to bring it up to a level top of full life and serene. Using own means of Botany and landscape architecture: the wooded trails, topiate beds, the maze, rabbit Island, the garden of Time, the terraces in increasing levels, the visitor embarks on a journey of settling similar to path of life where getting lost in adverse circumstances, meet for sudden illuminations, seeing himself as a rabbit confined to an island and reflect on the passage of time for once unburdened inner weight of everyday life, rise to the condition of full humanity, beyond and above the dross of human life. Wandering through the garden you can enjoy the sheer spectacle of many endangered--some of it original 16th-century – and of certain plants now become in force and Majesty of the true and own arboreal monuments: a unique and priceless, offer even with fountains and fish ponds, terraces, statues and water features just like in the spirit of the Italian Renaissance garden, where original nature and nature, domesticated by man blend into a harmonious whole that elevates both the same dignity. Inside the garden also insists the historic villa of the family Barbarigo, that you don't visit. It is a building that is not particularly precious architecture, perhaps voluntarily put in little prominence to give greater emphasis to the garden as the protagonist, in a role reversal that usually sees the plant part to just a backdrop to the architecture. Created in ' 500 in this place, where the family Barbarigo was sheltered in his possession from Venice decimated by plague, the philosophy that States the meaning of the garden had probably originated from the extreme sense of transience of life that the pestilence deadly instilling in the minds of the survivors. As in times of trouble they flub frivolities to privilege the essential, so when the earthly life is revealed very little turns thoughts to the great "why" of existence, justifications of the soul which console humans with their ask yourself and re-create itself eternally, as in an ebb of waves new generantisi from previous. The recommend to visit this unique and beautifully manicured and maintained, is obvious; It's rare to find such pearls where centuries-old preservation of many of the original essences blends so intensely with a passion for existing care and restoration of the lost.

  • Beautiful and very interesting. Pity the bar doesn't offer anything but beverage and some snacks and the giuded tours are offered only twice a day (usually at 11 and 4pm). Ticket price: 11€ (+5/10€ for guided tour) which is way higher than other villas and gardens of the zone. Some days you can picnic in the west side of garden.
  • Beautiful and well maintenanced garden. Definitely worth a visit.
  • A wonderful place to talk a walk. It's a great fun to walk through the 400 years old labyrinth 👍😉
  • A lavish symbolic baroque garden not to miss!
  • Super fascinating ancient garden
