  • Suddenly in dense vegetation to lush firs and beeches, appears this majestic Abbey immersed in the peace and quiet of the Woods. A monumental complex of extraordinary beauty which was built in stages, until the Baroque renovation. Visiting the Church, real treasure of a wonderful Baroque triumph, where beauty unopposed with stucco, frescoes and canvases, fills the view of wonder, and the refectory, which unfortunately was closed. All around the nature, silence and tranquility that regenerate the mind; a peculiar walk is the path of the chapels, which through a dense forest makes you discover the spiritual stages related to the place. Location of extraordinary beauty and charm! Place to visit, to come back!!

  • We went on 1 November and unfortunately without having booked we couldn't visit the Abbey. I understand that the friars are few but on a public holiday a place like this should be more accessible. From outside the hotel is elegant and majestic. Luckily we were in the company of an expert in the forests who showed, during the beautiful woodland surroundings, high Douglasie, rare conifers from America.

  • Beautiful complex recently restored. Shame about the lack of turnout is the Abbey that the Botanical Garden. You can also make the path of shrines and a stop at the pharmacy with the products of the friars.

  • I recently visited the Abbey of Vallombrosa is a Renaissance monastery surrounded by a large forest. The monks under the rule of Saint Benedict alternate liturgical prayer, nicely landscaped, the job crafting products including tasty herbal teas. Eighteenth-century organ notes resonate every Saturday afternoon and Sunday concerts in summer will benefit in the monastic liturgy. Guided by monks at the great Abbey not only allow you to enjoy the works of art but they do enter into the spirit of the Benedictine vallumbrosian congregation. Balkos
