  • Located in the Valley oaks of the Metauro River, Urbania was the ancient Casteldurante of the Duchy of Urbino. The Dukes of the House of Montefeltro considered it "a place of delight" and had built a special road which made it possible to reach it from Urbino in only three hours litter. The Duke Francesco Maria II della Rovere in the first half of the seventeenth century brought here his residence and died there in 1637 ending the dynasty of Montefeltro-Della Rovere and the Duchy of Urbino.La city then returned under the direct control of the Holy See and took its present name in honor of Pope Urban VIII. During the middle ages and in particular during the Renaissance, the city was renowned throughout Europe thanks to the manufacture of ceramics, whose ancient tradition continues today within shops, transmitted through teaching and research practiced by modern masters. If you are in the area of the city is worth visiting for its artistic beauty for good food.

  • Unfortunately I couldn't get in because of the timetable. Then the public so they can serve others.

  • I visited this town and aside from the Doge's Palace and the Church of the dead, the rest I just don't get honestly. A town certainly rich in history, but I would recommend only if you're in the area and only for the Church of the dead! The Cathedral I couldn't see it because it was closed.
