  • I imagined there was a sense of being in a forest from prehistoric times, but instead it was petrified tree trunks covered by strange little green huts set in an open grassy area, I was very perplexed...  more »
  • Stumbled upon while case at this place, after reading on the way to fabriano an anonymous sign with "fossil forest". Unfortunately it is very little known, little noticed and overgrown due to lack of funds to maintain it at best. It is in a grassy clearing where you see initially about 30 huts, but as soon as you get closer, you realize the Majesty of the site. 2 million year old trees, the same family of Redwoods, which are drawn up in all their beauty. Is the only place in the world to enjoy these trees so ancient that remained so well over time, and we can't do it justice. Thankfully the girl who made as a guide explained to us in detail the entire history of these trees. His passion is admirable, and it is because of people like you that this place goes on. Recommend it to everyone!

  • A unique wonder in the world, but missed and in a State of sad neglect. A story survived for millions of years but that is slowly dying for the scandalous indifference of Italian cultural heritage. Visit it if you can.
