  • Sunday spring morning in Udine, walk downtown and climb to the Castle; I stop at the House of the Peasantry (location very nice, been quite a few times for dinner) for a cappuccino. Well-despite the outside tables were half occupied-late service (I had to call the waitress who was also with making dried) and cappuccino unpresentable. I hope it was just an episode but the details, as we know, make a difference!

  • A unique location in the Centre of Udine, the home of Peasantry is the perfect location is in the courtyard of Udine Castle overlooking the whole town, the rooms are elegant and large not for anything staying the nobles to convivial dinners, in summer attracts classical music concerts or rock, fashion shows, or outdoor theater events; a place that deserves and then wooden carvings in the capitals of the halls with the heralds of Friulian counties are priceless! Outside, you'll find a beautiful circular garden with a manicured lawn.

  • In this context, really nice and fascinating we spent a pleasant evening. Delicious aperitif honorable mention at bubbles, Pinot Grigio, and ham and frico served in the form of finger. Not least the dishes for dinner, cappellacci di zucca and a great pot roast. Closing col Verduzzo had its because. Very Pleasant!

  • Enjoyable lunch in a lovely setting. I sat outside and ate penne pasta with tomatoes and basil, with a glass red wine, a small bottle of water, and bread. The wait staff did not speak English but it wasn't an issue. The small menu (Italian) is written in a chalk board set on an easel near the door.
  • Our visit in this location was the worst gastronomic thing that ever happened to me in Italy! It wasnt the food - the food was good (when we at last managed to get some!) but I think the staff in this place should be fired immediatly! I dont know if the staff in this location was tired, stressed or simply very unhappy. But if your profession is to serve guests you have to be at least polite. Not unfriendly, without the tiniest knowledge of other languages than Italian (not some words of English or German!! ), acting like a teacher who has to educate stupid children! We had to wait for a very very long time, the waiter came, didnt understand, dissappiered, come back angry like a bull, rolling his eyes! It was very very unpleasant!! If guests are not welcome in this location: Please, tell them when they arrive so they have a chance to go to a plave where they are treated like guests!!
  • 4 euro a spritz but guys there and an employee who is watering the lawn in full dress! :)
