  • Not very popular (I admit that I had never heard of before you travel to Udine), but which in reality is a little gem: low price and lots of interesting works.

  • In the heart of Udine a museum that holds three collections: the collection of paintings of 19th-century painters called legacy Marangoni; Astaldi collection, which includes many works of twentieth-century art, especially paintings of De Chirico, Guttuso, De Pisis, Rosai and many others, as well as sculptures and works of the brothers Dino and Mirko Basaldella, Afro, and the collection of American artists of the years 60 's and 70 's, works donated to the city of Udine during the earthquake of 1976. The collections are housed in spacious, well maintained and equipped with comprehensive explanations. Also interesting is the visit to the premises that made up the House of the owner Carmelo, especially the kitchen, the dining room and the bathroom, complete with period furnishings, remained unchanged. The House has been restored to a design by Gae Aulenti and it shows. Situated in the Centre of Udine, easily accessible. Very courteous staff at the Museum. Unfortunately, few visitors despite the negligible cost of ticket (EURO 5.00 per person, reduced rate € 2.50). I highly recommend a visit. And don't forget the Tiepolo: you will find important examples of his genius in both Museums that in the Diocesan Museum, also located in the heart of the city

  • La casa Carmelo with excellent restructuring was made a museum certainly interesting. Excellent furnishings and undoubtedly beautiful works and exhibits that in my humble opinion are not to be missed.

  • Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Developed on two floors. The second I couldn't visit due to lack of time. During this period until February 2016 on the ground floor you can visit the exhibition sula Friuli and international photographer Tina Modotti, which I highly recommend to anyone who is reading this review. The only drawback to Casa Carmelo IMHO is a bit limited hours: closing at 17. Located in the heart of Udine and architecture, modern and essential, is already in itself a reason to enter. The fact that good interior space is also used for other cultural activities: concerts, lectures etc..

  • Unsuited to a museum. The Museum must be functional to the works not the other way around.
