  • A long journey in Tuscany two nights/three days in Val d'Orcia. We had booked a nice, former post house located in the heart of the Val, the Orcia River flowed inside of the Park and Bagno Vognoni at 1 km walk; in any case admirably located to visit. You have goals of day, generally medieval villages perched at the top of the hills, strategic locations for the time, but take the key fields and the roads to get there, anyway they are all less than 20 or 30 km away from your residence. Yes let the roads take you in the countryside of the Val because this campaign is an attraction. My son asked me, if I found the home of the film Gladiator, take a picture... but we saw thirty or fifty with their Cypress alley, wheat fields, olive groves and vineyards all around on soft ripples and above , on the highest ripple home with its vegetation. It is a beauty! Really need to wander these roads as a bend a new landscape appears. Described like this we could believe that quickly gives always the same somehow... it is nothing quite to the contrary because Let's wonder in awe, but all this sweetness of forms gives you a sense of peace and simple happiness; Besides the views away from the hilltop medieval villages (they, them, much higher) often aus top of escarpments that changes the rest of the landscape. I describe separately the villages, they are very beautiful... only negative aspect commercialism pushed to the extreme: ke for one wine, pecorino for the other and the streets have more ground floor other than shops, boutiques and even shops which one two sells the product which made his reputation and other standard souvenirs and used without interest. If you come in Tuscany, especially do not miss Val d'Orcia... Although come in Tuscany means see everything because everything is beautiful.

  • Tuscany is all beautiful, but this area is particularly. Full of villages of great historical and architectural excellence. Not to mention the restaurants. Unmissable

  • This Valley offers everything the visitor: beautiful scenery of the Tuscan countryside in the silence, towns that still retain the medieval atmosphere, the wine, the food. In my lap I visited Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, San Quirico d'Orcia, Montepulciano and Bagni San Filippo, coming up on the slopes of Mount Amiata.
