  • Beautiful medieval village overlooking the whole of lunigiana. An amazing view. You see even Livorno. It seems to be in a different era. Recommended

  • Discovered by chance, sleepy village with small alleys, not suitable for a stroller. Not touristy and as a surprise a beautiful little church in the middle of the village. Winding road through a style you can come by car, running could also from a lower village. Magnificent view and 1 delicious restaurant with very friendly service.

  • By Hwy # 1 Aurelia from Marina di Carrara in the direction of Sarzana (SP) or viceversa, close to Marina di Carrara there is, in the direction of the mountain, the road that leads to Ortonovo. After a few kilometres turn right following the signs along a road full of bends sucked (and also the way it is), you reach Nicholas. You can park your car in the free parking observing though timetables for visitors ranging from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00. Outside these hours the strangers cannot stand. The view from up there is priceless. The narrow streets are all flowers and adorned with characteristic objects. The village is surrounded by an almost unreal silence and the lanes are almost all in dim light. It is obligatory to the camera because there are innumerable glimpses to capture. Also ask the artist decorating handmade majolica, which will make again a free visit his school lab. Enjoy your visit.
