Quadrilatero Romano, Turin

4.3
#28 of 106 in Neighborhoods in Italy
Quadrilatero Romano, or the Roman Quarter of Turin, contains many popular restaurants, wine bars, and hotels. A Roman fort enclosed this area long ago. The grid arrangement of the narrow streets makes this area recognizably Roman in the present day. You’ll find ruins of Roman walls, as well as two preserved polygonal towers with 16 sides each. Take the time to stroll here and have a meal, a glass of wine, or Italian ice cream. For Quadrilatero Romano and beyond, use our Turin trip builder to get the most from your Turin vacation.

You enter a fascinating journey through the alleys of downtown Turin that constitute the quadrilatero Romano. Getting lost and wandering aimlessly is the right perspective in this space where time seems to be spent. Find the shop that you weren't trying or restaurant that you didn't think to find may be the real opportunity to know Turin a little more. In depth. The discovery of a garden or a church or a building is what can happen, maybe not even the guides sometimes knows it. The food is good because the restaurants are mostly quality, drink well because the bars they know offer you great choices. Without disturbing, shots late and without major complications, even if the new rules on the sale of alcohol might suggest that limiting but rather the user that has select tipology is more accountable. I like it.

It is one of the attractions of Turin, then I personally recommend a visit at night, stopping for a beer or cocktail. Its beauty which oozes centuries of history will leave you breathless, as well as its narrow streets and Roman ruins. A visit to the Church of the Consolata and a must!
