Piazza Castello is the urban center of one of northern Italy's most important cities and was Italy's first capital. Wander the square to admire the Royal Palace, Royal Library, and the Royal Theater, among other structures. The old castle, from which the plaza takes its name, is a fortress built atop Roman ruins. Explore the portico-lined arcades along the square's perimeter of the square. They connect to many of the area's shopping streets. • Immense, majestic and charming, not to be missed in version nightly with gorgeous lighting, palazzo Madama in the middle of the square is the imposing, under the arcades there are several bars and cafes.

  • The square is very inda and large, with Palazzo Madama in it. It nice to sit and watch people while taking a break.

  • Beautiful and Regal piazza torinese perpetually bruttata from kiosks, noisy bands, beggars and hawkers of all kinds, with the express or tacit permission of the responsible authorities. A real shame.

  • Probably one of the most beautiful piazzas in Italy, if you ignore the so called skyscraper built during the fascism in the typical architecture of the times. The Royal Palace has splendid wrought iron gates and the Palazzo Madama in the middle of the square provides quite a unique perspective. Sadly the piazza seems to be in a permanent state of repairs, it's either one of the buildings, or the pavement, the fountains, you name it. It's probably better photographed at dawn or dusk as you can more easily get a perspective of the grid like topography of the city.
  • captures the true essence of Torino. Elegenat, vibrant and beautiful. there are lots of shopping malls and amazing bars around.
  • Probably the most brilliant Piazza of Torino. Flanked by the Royal palace of Torino and Palazzo Madama, it is filled with locals during the evening. A great place to hang out
  • Wonderful area to explore. Just perfect.
  • Great point to meet with friends, usually there are concerts and other cultural events here
