Piazza Castello, Turin
(4.7/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web)
Piazza Castello is the urban center of one of northern Italy's most important cities and was Italy's first capital. Wander the square to admire the Royal Palace, Royal Library, and the Royal Theater, among other structures. The old castle, from which the plaza takes its name, is a fortress built atop Roman ruins. Explore the portico-lined arcades along the square's perimeter of the square. They connect to many of the area's shopping streets. Put Piazza Castello into our Turin trip itinerary builder to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Turin.

  • Piazza Castello is as Regal as cozy ... positive point of the city, we have the Senate where, according to legend, the caves are underground entrance to observe the revenue just alchemical subsoil stained glass on the towers at the top of the Castle instead in my opinion one of the most beautiful and charming views of the Centre of Turin, the walls around the garden with several medicinal herbs ... Royal Palace Armory and library where underground there are kept in cable ' some works of Leonardo Da Vinci as the self-portrait and flight codes ... then there's still the Royal gardens from which access to the Museum of archaeology, hence access to the Turin cathedral where at the top you can see the dome keeper of the Holy Shroud by Guarino Guarini, in piazza San Lorenzo first place was received the shroud arrived in Turin , teatro Regio, the beginning of via Po ' ... entrance to the galleria Sabauda ... via Roma ... via garibaldi...in half the square of pleasant fountains that are colored in the evening and all around historic buildings, coffee shops ... and this is where the historical tram and risto tram where you can make a dinner or lunch while traveling to the historic ... By the way, beyond the gates of infinity between Castor and Pollux where pass in the Middle it says, there are loads of positive energy, is located in the little finger of Christopher Columbus who agitate would bring much luck ... where is the relief of Columbus to you the taste to find it. ...

  • Very nice graphic city centre square. We went there during Christmas time, and was very nicely decorated. A place to go when you visit Turin!
  • Lots of little shops, nice scenery, connected to some of the most walked streets of Turin
  • Main square in Turin. Really central in the city. If you are on Via Roma, via Garibaldi, via Po or via Pietro Micca just keep walking and you can get to Piazza Castello. There are bars for aperitifs and pizza shops. Three of the main museums in Turin are located in Piazza Castello: palazzo Reale, Armenia Reale and Palazzo Madama.
  • Simply the best square in town, just less classy than Piazza San Carlo.
  • Best open-sky market ever
