Piazza Castello, Turin
(4.8/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web)
Piazza Castello is the urban center of one of northern Italy's most important cities and was Italy's first capital. Wander the square to admire the Royal Palace, Royal Library, and the Royal Theater, among other structures. The old castle, from which the plaza takes its name, is a fortress built atop Roman ruins. Explore the portico-lined arcades along the square's perimeter of the square. They connect to many of the area's shopping streets. Put Piazza Castello into our Turin trip itinerary builder to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Turin.

  • Immense and beautiful square surrounded by Palazzo Reale and Palazzo Madama from this square you can reach the most important streets of Turin, in the Christmas season even more beautiful

  • Piazza Castello is the ideal starting point for visiting the city. Not only because there is the tourist information desk and selling the card to visit the museums in Turin, but also because it is at the center of the main streets of the old town of Turin. Pedestrian area with street performers, happy people and an incredible architectural beauty.

  • Were during the bridge, taking advantage of a trip to visit the family, combine, Museum Egyptian, plaza Carlos III, via Rome and ended with the Palazo Mamadama and as not Piazza Castello, went with children, visited the market of Christmas, the cold accompanied the visit us seemed of be in Austria. The buildings surrounding the square are very unique, one can imagine a Torino full industrial revolution in the early 20th century strolling and enjoying a hot chocolate in bars topical this wonderful area of Turin.

  • Very nice graphic city centre square. We went there during Christmas time, and was very nicely decorated. A place to go when you visit Turin!
  • Lots of little shops, nice scenery, connected to some of the most walked streets of Turin
  • Main square in Turin. Really central in the city. If you are on Via Roma, via Garibaldi, via Po or via Pietro Micca just keep walking and you can get to Piazza Castello. There are bars for aperitifs and pizza shops. Three of the main museums in Turin are located in Piazza Castello: palazzo Reale, Armenia Reale and Palazzo Madama.
  • Simply the best square in town, just less classy than Piazza San Carlo.
  • Best open-sky market ever
