  • The shroud museum is a unique museum very close to the city center of Turin. Small in size but very interesting with a lot of information about the shroud. It starts with an audiovisual and continues ...  more »
  • The first fundamental point and that should also be clarified in the name of the Museum is that the Shroud is NOT EXPOSED THERE, it is placed in a shrine (obviously covered) and silver glass kept in the Cathedral of Turin! The museum tour consists of an initial video which explains all the features and the history of the shroud and for which we are given tools to listen to the sound, of which one is not working, a tiny collection of photographs taken at the time of the exposures of the shroud itself and of some historical document, all without captions without description and without insights! The Museum is not located near the historic center, so if you're walking and you want to maximize your time I strongly advise against!

  • We call for that the Shroud is not in the Museum but in the Cathedral and is covered. As for the Museum, a disappointment. 6 euro entrance fee for those who cannot obtain free or reduced admission is a robbery. The staff are friendly and courteous, but the Museum is not cured. It is introduced into a small room where you see a video on which sound should be heard with audio guides; one of my girlfriend at some point went off. After the video is in a room with panels that reproduce photos of the shroud and you should hear the explanation always with those audio guides and my girlfriend has gone off again. Finally it comes down to the final room where there are exhibits placed there but no description whatsoever. Interpreted what they represent, of that era are etc etc and this is called Museum? Totally discouraged, don't bother getting there.

  • I visited summer of 2014. We stayed at Le Petit Hotel (approx.50 Euro Hotel including breakfast) just an easy walk from the main train station in Turin (Torino) and easy walk to the Museum. The Museum "tour" is done by a headset in your language as you walk through at your own pace. The life size hologram of the crucified Man in the image is by itself worth visiting this museum. The museum was only a few Euros for admission and yes the workers were very kind. If you can read up on the observed scientific evidence about the Shroud Fabric and the Image before your visit you will have the most appreciation. Documented scientific observations of the shroud and its image are mostly consistent with scriptures of the abuse, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Messiah Christ. I highly recommend the visit.
  • Speechless
  • The museum by itself is quite small; nevertheless, the keepers were really kind and willing to help.
  • The staff was quite annoyed (especially humans). Very interesting initial presentation with a video and audio guides. Subsequently (always with the audio guides) you were interesting facts. But after a while got bored because the lower Hall kept repeating the same things of home video with some small study. Beautiful church with a photo of the shroud. Recommended religious practitioners and those who want to learn a little something more. Discouraged only go to this Museum in Turin.

  • Location very useful to enhance and deepen the path in the Cathedral and the chapel of the Holy Shroud. Excellent reproduction in the Museum.
