Landmark Tourist Spot
Piazza San Carlo is one of the main city squares in Turin, Italy. It was laid out in the 16th and 17th century and is an example of Baroque style. Its current name is an hommage to Charles Borromeo while the square was previously known as Piazza Reale, Piazza d'Armi, and Place Napoleon. The equestrian statue of Emmanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy, by Carlo Marochetti (1838), is located at the center of the square, that is surrounded by porticos designed by Carlo di Castellamonte around 1638. The twin churches of Santa Cristina and San Carlo Borromeo close the southern edge of the square.

  • The word "Torino" coming from the Latin word Taurus (the Bull), it is only logical, therefore, that the image is exactly representative of polorogih of cloven-hoofed mammals, now having a taxonomic rank of tribes in the subfamily Bovinae, became a real symbol of the capital of Piedmont. By the way, not to be "lopsided" Turin-history-there is another version of the origin of its name: the story raises it to Celtic "taur" (thor)-or "mountain". The plausibility of this version is confirmed by the fact that the ancient Celts worshipped many elements of nature, including the mountain. But for me "Bull" version is more interesting and more fun. It is clear that the bull in Turin, well almost as a cat in the Russian village-everywhere (and I mean an image). Therefore, metallic image provocatively Bull (Il toro in piazza San Carlo), standing on hind legs, "built-in" in stone slabs Piazza San Carlo did not leave us indifferent is a perfect object for a remarkable photo album traveler! And if you consider the travel story, they say, should be stepping on her stomach from cattle is of the type brings great luck, it is quite understandable for excessive potjortost of this image. By the way, some guides claim that if stepping on some other part of the body of the Bull (not the belly, mon cher!) then come true and more specific and treasured desire, for example, girl/boy will get married/married or whether the family was expecting her first child. One word-have trampled polorogogo!

  • Very popular area. Was very packed with locals celebrating when Juventus won the league. Lots of quality clothes shops
  • La piazza più bella di Torino
  • The Squadre in Turin, mix of Italian and french taste
  • Events venue like ChocolaTO and Jazz Festival, the square is located in the middle of Via Roma. From Piazza Castello to Piazza Vittorio, it is above the natural path of tourists and residents. In the center there is a statue of Emanuele Filiberto.
  • Great square in the middle of the city centre
