I toretti, Turin

#18 of 482 in Things to do in Turin
I toretti, or small fountains with the head of a bull, symbolize Turin for locals and tourists alike. You won’t likely visit them all, as there are 800 spread out across the city’s public spaces. The fresh water they provide proves invaluable during hot weather. Politicians have tried to replace them with water-saving, on-demand fountains, but locals resist such efforts. Bring a water bottle and fill up at one of these for free. Using our world travel planner, Turin attractions like I toretti can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • These fountains are scattered throughout the city, very cute and features allow a good and refreshing SIP of water. They are a true symbol citizen extremely important for Turin, which a few years ago were firmly opposed when it was proposed to change the iconic green.

  • The fountains are situated in Piazza San Carlo and are cute small little head figures that can only be found in Turin and can be used for drinking water that flows all day.  more »
  • object-symbol of the city, the young bulls are scattered everywhere and deliver fresh drinking water for nearly 200 years, to the point that they have become an unmistakable "special sign" of Turin
