  • The monumental cemetery of Turin is not only a place of memories for our beloved ones but here you can admire works of architecture. You can visit it individually but do not photograph, or join guided tours, thematic only. The study visit graves of the bourgeoisie torinese interesting from an artistic point of view but also the curiosity to discover the final resting place of famous among these Isa Bluette singer, Fred Buscaglione, the duo Fasano, grande Torino players, Rita Levi Montalcini Rosa Vercellana la Bela Rosin, Mario Soldati and morganatic wife of the King of Italy.

  • As a fan of both architecture and birding, it was a bit of a no-brainer to pay a visit to the Cimitero Monumentale di Torino when I was in the area. Architecturally the place is stunning. When the top...  more »
  • Probably not to be put on the list of must-see in the city, as is the case for very famous monumental cemeteries some European capitals. However, as mentioned in other reviews, you know that even here you can admire real monuments and works of art, some are real shrines (and even famous people, but individuals and families known in Turin); simply just take the Central Avenue from the main entrance: from Gothic to Art Nouveau, passing for 700-800 ' styles '. For a thorough examination and rich probably recommend a guided tour; They also organize theme. However you can also on their own: with a minimum of orientation and map by downloading or by consulting the various lists and resources on the website; or by selecting in advance what interests. For those who want to see the tombs of particular characters, theres every: artists (eg. Edmondo De Amicis, Primo Levi), scientists (es. Montalcini, Dogliotti) industrial (es. Caffarel, Pininfarina) and much more, how impossible it is not to mention the Risorgimento (es. Massimo D'azeglio, Silvio Pellico); those who know Torino/Piemonte or history will find plenty of notable people, some of them but of national importance (but just think of the large number of people, probably less known to most people, which are named after the city streets).
