  • Are sincere: the Royal Library is the most disappointing attraction around the pole. Outside the piazzetta Reale and it is really small. The upper floor is used as a common use. Vaguely reminiscent of the halls of Trinity Library of Dublin, but is smaller and worst manufacturing. In the lower floor there is the self-portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci, but other than that, there is really little else, apart from a few ancient book. Overall, if you paid the ticket around the pole, it's worth seeing the Royal Library, but don't expect a visit long and detailed.

  • By avid reader and regular visitor to libraries, I wanted to hide and wait for its closure in order to open the walnut furniture with showcases and browse the precious and ancient tomes contained within them. Fortunately reason prevailed on instinct, so I am limited to admire the beauty of this place beautifully furnished and decorated and breathe the air of those times. Despite apparently seems small, the numbers speak for themselves: more than two hundred thousand volumes in addition, manuscripts, scrolls, prints, drawings, maps, photo albums and much more. A rich historical and cultural heritage to be certainly proud.

  • A lovely emotion see the self-portrait of Leonardo! In fact, the library is a very quiet and clean, spacious and richly decorated.

  • This ancient library brings you back in time. The old books can be even lent, but you have to be an university student or got a special authorization. Very interesting the underground floor (stairs at the bottom of the library) where many exhibitions are assembled. Some photos of the last exhibition about "drawings around Leonardo".
  • Up to 8 September, the Library hosts the exhibition "tasteful Cuisine». The show unfolds in three sections: menu, tableware and food production. In the monumental Hall are visible some precious tableware of Meissen, Baccarat, Richard-Ginori, apart from some pieces of dessert service belonged to Maria Adelaide Habsburg-Lorraine, wife of Vittorio Emanuele II, which depicted Queens, actresses and writers. The path leads into the vault, with the section dedicated to the production of food and the one on the table. This is where you can see some treatises, never exhibited before, on farming, hunting and the wine. Finally, in nineteen Windows of Leonardo room, two menus are proposed banquets served at Court in 1865 and some recipes.

  • Wonderful collection of books more or less ancient from across Europe (and beyond), the result of numerous donations of various sovereigns of Savoy dynasty. Here you will find the famous self-portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci, located in an underground room, is the most valuable of the library.

  • I went to the library to see its collection of contemporary books. The staff is extraordinarily cooperative and friendly. I applaud the very tight regulation that unlike other libraries prohibits the invasion of students that they hide away to study their books between classes, whereby in certain time slots is not even a free shelf to sit down to compile the loan form. Even the national team has had to put up signs banning discarding in trash containers yogurt cups and other remnants of snacks made in that room had to reiterate the prohibition. I could work in perfect silence and without any disturbance due to the continuous way-go to tinker with smartphone so typical Italian student even at university lectures. Great and serious institution, so not only for exhibitions, but also for the articles on the unique source of culture which is the book.

  • By the 19th century cleared of Pelagio Pelagi you enter in the Royal Library, where we can admire the rich collections of the Salon Palagiano, under the evocative time decorated. Archival documents and vintage books tell the story of the city. The library often hosts interesting exhibitions
