  • Thus it was renamed following the miraculous event that took place in 1453. According to legend, on 6 June of that year he arrived in Turin a thief who had ransacked the Church of Exilles but, now in this square, the Mule carrying the load he stood, it poured and monstrance stole hovered a host who stopped in midair; only the Bishop of Turin, with many supplications and prayers, managed to descend the host that rested in a glass.
