  • Like Tropea is genannt...und also the Pearl of Calabria this little town has almost earned the title. This winding Italian town emanates a morbid charm. Any funding for the preservation of this city should be gone, then it is unfortunately questionable, in which channels... Despite everything, it makes to stroll through the streets of fun and as a destination you should take before the end of the pedestrian zone. The road ends as clipped to a metal railing and opened an unforgettable view on the Davor bearing small rocky island with the sanctuary of Santa Maria dell' Isola. Culinary comes everyone at his own expense, the small cafes and restaurants often picturesquely nestled in the small alleys and invite you to linger. Despite high season, not the feeling came up in crowds. You could have it vibrant, colorful and noisy, but Tropea has also his quiet places. Tropea is also the starting point for the mandatory ship travel to Stromboli and the other islands of liparischen. Small warning! You have to be thinking sailor in stronger winds. Otherwise the approx. 2 hour crossing is an experience of a different kind. So take previously rather appropriate travel tablets if needed. Our ship 170 told about 200 passengers about figuratively, what had to eat it on the eve... ;-) The crew was much occupied to provide everyone with black plastic bags, which unfortunately is injected from the ship thoroughly many to late kamen...aber after each tour. :-D The visit to the Islands but fully paid off and everyone is recommended to book the bus ride on Lipari! Magnificent views and very entertaining and instructive. Swimsuits not forget it has been what to bathe at the foot of a volcano.

  • I visited at night after having dinner at a nice restaurant (can't remember the name) where we ate very well cheaply, of course Ligurian standards I'm used to;-(. During the summer it is very crowded.

  • We loved Tropea, from the pottery shops, to the churches and beaches. The beaches we crystal clear waters and beautiful cliffs to look at. The water was warm and waves were not too big.
