  • Cathedral of the Xth-XIth century rebuilt and survived the barbarity of man and insults of geologic time and ... Is a resource to take care with the utmost commitment because, testimony to the high cultural content reached from the South in the centuries before the barbarism of Savoy Piedmont Unitarian. The economic law of large estates and the expropriation of land to the peasants of the South is the number one cause of emigration from the tavoliere of Puglia (1861-1890), and abandonment of bitter land to escape from hunger and poverty that the unification of Italy gave the South. Troy did not remain a lot to see and do, but is cured, clean, is on a human scale as other times, you can admire the ancient nobility palaces and strolling in alleys silent and embellished and carefully kept clean by elderly women. There are several places to eat for lunch or dinner and also meeting places for young people ... but lacks the hospitality to MOTOR BIKERS ... that could be the resource that you added in isolated places like Troy. This magnificent cathedral and it would be very important to have available, in addition to Central car parks reserved for motor bikers, a local guide explaining the details and the connection with the history and our ancient and splendid past ... long to find the reason and strength to hope for the future.

  • A unique monument located in a small town and operated like a private instead of a world heritage site. I visited twice to Troy over these last two years and found the Church always closed, unfortunately. The first time was closed during hours of noon-12.00/16.00-methinks the second because in summer holiday period par excellence, had decided to make the adjustment of the electrical system, closing completion the sacred building to the public, rather than proceed to aisles and segments; and we had arrived on time, mindful of the previous adventure. Hopefully there is a third visit more fortunate, but of course the Curia does not help and I miss the Superintendent not to seek to make available sacral heritage in the region, which has hours to be faithful but not from tourists, who often arrive in a Center for lunch and then I can't no wait 3:00 to enter because they have another goal before stopping for dinner. Perhaps open cathedrals and churches before by 15.00 would not so much tourism as tourist satisfaction.

  • you will be fascinated to be admired the Cathedral façade, sitting on the seats of the square in front of the Cathedral, a timeless appeal. Too bad I found it closed.
