  • A superb walk, better known as the Napoleonic road, which runs from the Obelisk placed at the entrance of Villa Opicina on the outskirts of the village of Prosecco, overlooking the Gulf of Trieste. In sunny, sheltered location is popular for jogging but also and above all to walk around and enjoy the beauties of nature of the Carso and the clear blue sea that sparks from the foot of the rocky coastline as far as the horizon.

  • It is an easy walk with something for everybody, about 4 or 5 kilometers, flat. You can start from the clearing of Strada Nuova per Opicina (in this case can be accessed through the Opicina tram or by car, but difficult to find parking in the clearing) or take the opposite course starting from Borgo San Mauro a Prosecco (easier to find parking for the car). You walk on a gravel road in the middle of nature and it shows constantly the sea: a splendid panorama from the top. Get there by tram is also a delight because it climbs on steep, Rails through the houses of the lucky ones that live in that area.

  • After riding from piazza Oberdan with trenino until the Opicina Obelisk we fowarded to this wonderful road. Napoleonic or Vicentina does the same in the end it turns out it's gorgeous promenade and superlatives are the views at first towards the Gulf of Trieste to see from above the Miramare Castle. Highly recommended the walk and if you want to make a loop you can go up to the sanctuary and then return to Opicina with a nice walk through the Woods. in the end though tired down to Trieste with trenino (make the last train timetables) truly satisfied.
