Where to stay in Trieste

Trieste's historical town center is filled with a host of hotels boasting comfortable rooms with panoramic views of the surrounding area. Hotels in this zone also tend to be pricey and often require booking well in advance. If you are traveling on a budget and prefer not to forge your plans months in advance, consider staying at a private guesthouse or B&B. Trieste's family-run operations not only provide spacious rooms and access to private outdoor space, but also serve their guests with insider tips about the city's less-known bars, restaurants, and historical sites.

  • The observatory originates from the Nautical School founded in Trieste by the Empress Maria Theresia of Austria in 1753. Entered into the lists of Italian astronomical observatories in 1923, the Tries...  more »
  • The boys will be painstakingly studied astrophysicists but I don't understand a banana by what they said and less and less kids from 11 years and up. Gave it all for granted and did not make any effort to try to stick a little, I felt like I was back at views forced middle schoolers with the desire to escape out. I'm sorry to say this but unfortunately should take into account that 80% of customers do not know what is a supernova, they don't know what gas is made up the space and why. I hope to be able to simplify a little on everything and maybe be a little more sociable with boys.

  • If you are in Trieste you must not miss the experience of an evening at the Observatory. It is already interesting small historical exhibition at the entrance, waiting for the beginning of your visit. Very good and patients the two astronomers who led the Group (there were several children, but they knew how to handle them very well). Despite the intermittent presence of some clouds (October), we could see some slices of heaven: really nice. Professional but understandable explanations that were provided. I believe that if possible, it would remain all night! Will definitely stay here again and in the meantime, my sincere thanks to the two "hosts".
