Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web
Golfo di Trieste is a large shallow bay of the Adriatic Sea, shared by Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia. Prominent bays in the Italian section include the Bay of Panzano and Bay of Muggia, although there are no notable beaches. Take a car along the Strada Costiera, the road along the coast, where you will find several spots to enjoy views of the gulf as well as beautiful sunsets. Every October since 1969, the international sailing race known as "Barcolana regatta" (or Autumn Cup) takes place here--with over 2,000 participants, it is one of the largest of its kind in the world. • To appreciate the Trieste Bay you have to observe it from Miramare Castle. A body of water on which reflects the surrounding hills, lined only by ships calling at the port.

  • Trieste is on the Adriatic Sea and the Golfo di Trieste is at the foot of the city. It is always full of sail and motor boats. Triestians love the sea!
  • It was the first time I saw the sea near Trieste and Friuli, in the hot days of August is very I just see him at the top. Many of the most beautiful spots are accessible after walking with discrete slopes. Maybe it is best served by a boat.
