  • Absolutely amazing for wealth and care of archaeological collections. The part about Greek, Etruscan and Cypriot vessels, but also that the ancient Egypt and the Roman remains surprising even visitors with less attentive. The garden with its medieval walls and the lapidarium communicate a magical atmosphere. Just a few steps from the Cathedral and the castello di San Giusto, it is a destination not to be missed when visiting Trieste.

  • We were looking for someplace that would explain Trieste's interesting history since Roman times, but this museum stops at Roman times. It was not obvious from what I read online.
  • The Museum consists of a series of collections (Greek and Roman sculpture, Taranto, Egyptian) and-Roman finds from sites not far from Trieste. Among the most interesting pieces include silver rhyton, the large Greek vase in the middle of the room (it is by a famous author, immediately recognizable by the great naturalness of his figures). Rich variety of marble and stone material on the outside, not only classic but also post-medieval age (for example 18th century friezes from a Roman district now demolished) and some Jewish tombstones and Turks.

  • Covering different periods of history and civilization: prehistory, protohistory, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Etruscan, neoclassicism, Magna Greece, Romans, Maya etc. interesting interior rooms, a pleasant garden in which there is also a monument to Winckelmann. Extraordinary events often take place there, such as "archaeology". The ticket office was moved to the entrance of via della Cattedrale, which passes almost unnoticed. It is worth looking for it (you have to go down the street in front of the Cathedral of San Giusto).

  • A museum to visit (like all museums). There are many artifacts and paintings on the history, since ancient times, and how it has affected the development of the city
