  • We were in Trieste for the Christmas markets, which are to a large part in Piazza Sant'Antonio, and unintentionally we crossed this beautiful church which stands at the end of the prospect of the Grand Canal and is the largest church in Trieste. Dedicated to s. Antonio Taumaturgo, was erected at the place where there was already a church with the same name: for this was called s. Antonio Nuovo. Precedes a majestic Pronaos with six ionic columns surmounted by a large triangular pediment, while the attic is crowned by statues of the six patron saints of the city. In solemn Interior has a single nave, the arches, barrel vaults and the light falling from the Windows of the side niches neoclassical lunate harmonic spatiality that culminates in the large central dome. Next to one of the altars of the left opens the door leading to the chancel and a small chapel, known of the visitation, where is stored the painting of the same name. If you are in Trieste for local markets or not, you can visit the Church of Sant'Antonio.

  • It is the typical photo with your back to the sea and watching the channel toward the Center. Don't stay there, walk toward the Church, comes and breathes beautiful spirituality. Do you like sacred art? Seeing, a huge canvas of the presentation of Jesus at the Temple will surprise you pleasantly. Perfectly preserved. And after the mystique, Shoppin via Rome (go back and comes to the Joyce statue that is located on the canal, that is via Roma), walking on the path of Joyce to number 20, runs through shops, great offers on shoes and clothing both women how male.

  • Beautiful out but not so nice inside
  • A beautiful church.
  • The Church does not have anything special inside, to visit if you pass by there. However, has a great perspective on channel

  • The Church has an impressive façade overlooking the Canal and is excellent background perspective viewing from the banks. Is quite photogenic scenery.
