Barcola, Trieste

4.0
#1 of 7 in Beaches in Friuli Venezia Giulia
Unwind in the quaint seaside neighborhood of Barcola, where the saltwater breeze permeates the air, fishing boats line the harbor, and gelato stands line the shore. Quiet and charming, the area is ideal for long walks to take in the scenic view or swimming and sunbathing on tanning platforms. Enjoy an abundant choice of great local food at the many local restaurants. Consider visiting the nearby Miramare Castle, a 19th-century citadel and popular tourist destination. Sailing buffs will be interested to know that the neighborhood hosts an annual European sailing regatta. Boardwalk pretty clean well equipped with showers, toilets, bars, benches, possibility of nolggiare sunbeds ... cute place thanks to the pine forest which is located directly behind the sea, unfortunately the water is very deep immediately except in some stretches where gravel has been reported ...

But yes, we took a hike in Duino, we're hot we happen to Barcola, parked the RV (17.30 hours) not so difficult and we're going for a dip in a beautiful sea. We go out, using the ladder and we also do the shower asciugandoci sat on the bench in the Sun. Of course, you do not choose Trieste as a destination for a beach holiday but I found the beach of Trieste a pleasant place to spend some quality time

The promenade Trieste is something you don't expect, there is the beach of sand or pebbles, but an asphalt road with rocks and kiosks. The promenade begins with a pine wood equipped for children, but there are no chairs or umbrellas for hire. You can bring your dogs and the water privileges is facilitated by a staircase. Shortly after la pineta begin the mice, terraced Beach area with the presence of the lifeguard. The seaside promenade continues up to the castle of Miramare, passing through California, Marinella and the fork.

Where to stay in Trieste

Trieste's historical town center is filled with a host of hotels boasting comfortable rooms with panoramic views of the surrounding area. Hotels in this zone also tend to be pricey and often require booking well in advance. If you are traveling on a budget and prefer not to forge your plans months in advance, consider staying at a private guesthouse or B&B. Trieste's family-run operations not only provide spacious rooms and access to private outdoor space, but also serve their guests with insider tips about the city's less-known bars, restaurants, and historical sites.
