  • Aquarium small, well maintained and cheap but honestly I expected a little better and with more fish to see (though as noted 3/4 basins were under maintenance). Shame as a city like Trieste would deserve something more.

  • The Aquarium already knew it wasn't very big. but it was actually a great entertainment for our little girl almost two years! At the end you pay so little to get worth a ride with the kids.

  • Not to be compared to large aquariums of Genoa, Monaco, Barcelona, etc: is a dated and contained, and was part of the history of Trieste. In fish of the Adriatic and, two, tropical marine environment. Available good descriptions of nature. The surprise is on the first floor where, along with interesting collections of objects khitsh made with shells, are the shrines that House the reptiles: all the endemics present in our country, as well as some European reptile or distant countries. Amazing vipers Aspis, ever see before in full swing. A show. Recommend a visit, maybe with the children.

  • Small aquariums, old ones, but the children room (1st floor) is nice. For cold afternoons nice to visit. Entrance fee is low.
  • Locals wild life, mostly fish but also snakes and other critters. Very interesting but sometimes it looks a bit desolate and the animals are in rather small tanks. Still an ok visit for 30 minutes.
  • Not that big as I expected before. But ut's quite lovely.. Perfect place for kids and toodlers to learn about wildlife and sea's creatures
  • Small and inexpensive aquarium, great if your little ones want to see some fish. Two larger tanks and lots of smaller tanks. With bigger and smaller fish, some small sharks, lobsters, morays, ... On the first floor are snakes, turtles, dragon's and such. As well as a kid play room, with books, a metal wall with fish magnets and paper for coloring. Well worth a vist. Don't expect a huge aquarium where you spend a whole day. Perfect for an hour or two with your kids.
  • Not much to see. Just for quick tour up to 30 min. Not expensive

Where to stay in Trieste

Trieste's historical town center is filled with a host of hotels boasting comfortable rooms with panoramic views of the surrounding area. Hotels in this zone also tend to be pricey and often require booking well in advance. If you are traveling on a budget and prefer not to forge your plans months in advance, consider staying at a private guesthouse or B&B. Trieste's family-run operations not only provide spacious rooms and access to private outdoor space, but also serve their guests with insider tips about the city's less-known bars, restaurants, and historical sites.
