  • I personally enjoyed this church, much more. Simple, as befits Franciscan churches, very sleek and harmonious, houses some precious frescoes. To my astonishment, I found the grave of a son of Dante and Petrarch's daughter.

  • With the Temple of St. Nicholas, is one of the most beautiful churches in Treviso. Built around 1270 by the monks of St. Francis in an area where for some time they had a chapel dedicated to the Virgin is characterized by Romanesque elements (entrance, bows of transepts ...) prevailing over other Gothic (Windows and arches of the chapels terminals) as evidence that the Church was finished before the Gothic fashion to take the upper hand. Originally the Church was a Latin cross. In 1806 was desecrated (see Napoleonic wars) and used as a barn. The October 4, 1928, on the feast of St Francis, the Church was entrusted to the Conventual Fathers and reconsecrated. Noteworthy frescoes by Tomaso da Modena and his collaborators, the tomb of Pietro Alighieri and the tombstone of Francesca Petrarca.
