  • Trescore is a delightful country on the main road that leads from the lowlands of Bergamo to Tonale. Of Roman origin, it is strategically located on the road passing through the passo del Tonale, bore in Northern Europe. The oratory is a small single-nave church built in 1400 as a place of prayer and stop for pilgrims from the North on their way to Rome and for the merchants. The Church is dedicated to Saint Barbara and Saint Bridget. It was frescoed in the early 1500 by Giovan Battista Sameer who commissioned the operà Lorenzo Lotto. The left wall recounts the martyrdom of Santa Barbara. The right one the miracles of Saint Brigid. All lumped together by Christ from the wall right off the branches of the vine which leads to eternal glory, represented by the angels painted on the ceiling, while harvest. To stay in boca open. Perhaps exaggerates the Sistine Chapel of the North who defines. But certainly to visit and to enjoy with your eyes. Register for guided tours in the local Pro loco.

  • At three o'clock in the afternoon, Sunday and public holidays, today was the first of November, 45-minute guided tour of the small private church in villa Suardi.La guide explains very well the stories of Saint Barbara and Saint Brigid paintings from Lotto, making appreciate individual episodes and details of expression, he frames the work in historical and religious period, maybe he could say a few words in addition sulLotto in General and a comparison with the contemporary artistic movements, but probably the average visitor is more fascinated by the "comic" frescoed anyway and can check before or after ... Shame you can't take pictures because each character and particular is realistic and analytical.

  • the frescoes of the oratory is a work of great complexity and a testimony of faith of this great and self-effacing artist, who undertook a narrative of a content and style and maybe even a little passed at its time. On an entire wall are painted scenes of endless martyrdom of Santa Barbara, about other scenes from the life and miracles of Saint Bridget, St Mary Magdalene and Saint Catherine of Alexandria, the four sacred to whose protection the Suardi family relied. On the ceiling, instead, a completely different scene: with a fake perspective that includes the actual roof rafters, cherubs are represented among vineyards play, Chase and ... they're peeing on visitors. This ceiling is reminiscent frescoed by Correggio in Parma, but appears, by comparison, much less spontaneous. Excellent guided tour, which is essential to grasp and understand the meaning of many details.
