  • The first day we drove up the pass from the East side, there was a bicycle race the same day, and even though we were early (about 10 am in the morning), it was already a lot of traffic, both cars, motorcycles and pedal-bikes up and down the pass. At the top of the pass, it was very chaotic at the souvenir shops where parking of motorcycles had no system at all. It is marked parking spaces for motorcycles just before and just after the top point at the stores so the best would be if everyone could use these. (There is also a larger car park just over the top on the West side of the pass, at a hotel, where we parked). The actual pass is especially with the hairpin twists and turns the button-and the longer the parties with the right path. We had several stops for photography on the walk up the pass and I mean one should have at least a trip up there one can have multiple stops to enjoy the view and constructs of the road. And then run the pass again for only driving:) We drove a motorcycle and had this as one of the main goals for our tour of Europe where we also run several other pass. We were there in the beginning of July, and then lay it actually fresh snow on top. The Sun melts the snow quickly away, but this is at about 2700 metres high so when is the temperature and weather conditions then, even in July. Are you planning to run the pass I have the following advice: start as early as possible and parks on the marked place on top:) Good ride!

  • With a large group of friends car enthusiasts & engines (MINI) last Sunday we made the ascent from part of Switzerland from on top of the Passo dello Stelvio (almost 2,760 mt a.s.l.). Absolutely exceptional and characteristic of the Dolomites. The road is full of back and curves alternating with short sections rights an uphill struggle (and downhill on the other side). Pity that not all "drivers" give precedence to those salt as it should be, but so be it ... cmq an honorable mention to the many cyclists who compete in the arduous task of climbing this mountain, I had a hard time letting it with 4 wheels ...) ! And a symbolic caning on the hands for motorcyclists and motorists (thankfully few) who engage in the path a little too quickly.

  • I am a car enthusiast and long wanted to take the State road of the Stelvio, inserted as a beginning of a journey towards the mythical Grossclockner, in Austria through the eponymous great road considered among the most beautiful in the world and fortunately much less known of the Stelvio. Luck and a little verification of predictions, he gave us two exceptional days with fabulous time! The coolest way I always path!
