  • an Assembly of volumes, stones and cement without functional logics. In this context some famous artists of the years 60/80 have placed works that probably constitute the worst of their production. Cost big bucks than in other countries, no one would have dreamed of paying even one tenth of what it cost. The result of this ideological scam is before the eyes of all. A country without identity, distressing and which constitutes an act of violence for the locals, they maybe hinted to be lucky enough to live in an open air museum. I assume instead that they have not dared to openly express their displeasure for fear of being accused of incivility and poor artistic sensibility, while in their hearts they would have definitely preferred the white stones of old buildings destroyed by the earthquake, humble constructions as precious functional needs of life, sobriety, that respect the traditions and culture of the area. But restore old sites would require the commitment of a dozen poor of billions and thus little interest to speculators, for the intellectual ambitions of living artists and profiteers who abandoned this project made a tutorial for tacky and uselessness. Curiosity about the glut of obscenities is perhaps the only appeal that pushes the few visitors to linger in this country geezer, I learned have cost 2,000 billion at that time; most of the reconstruction after the earthquake of the whole Friuli.

  • Walking through the streets of the country it's like walking into a ghost town, the few people who meet and all very elderly and barely aware of living in a modern country. The architectural works, very beautiful, they are removed from the typical peasant country context

  • Visit Gibellina is a unique experience, a land monument, contemporary city and at the same time place decadent. The country gives the idea of a metaphysical place but sena soul and lifeless, you perceive an atmosphere of bewilderment. However the works that fill the streets and squares are of great quality and impact as well as the architecture that characterize the urban fabric.
