  • Villa delle Ginestre (formerly Carafa-Farooq), is one of the vesuvian villas of the 18th century, among those not aligned along the golden mile, located on the Hill of Camaldoli, in the hamlet of Leopards of the municipality of Torre del Greco. The villa is also linked to the biography of Giacomo Leopardi, who spent the last season of his life, and composed some works, including the famous La ginestra. The building was built in the eighteenth century by Canon Joseph Saini. In the nineteenth century the villa passed to the family Farooq. In 1836 Antonio Ranieri played host to his friend Giacomo Leopardi, who stayed there until shortly before his death (which occurred in Naples), and wrote several thoughts, moonset and broom, lyric by which the villa was named. Included in the ente Ville Vesuviane is situated at the foot of Vesuvius that overlooks it.

  • On the slopes of Vesuvius stands Villa Ferrigli, the last residence of the young Fabulous who spent the last years of his life. Stunning views of the sea from coltraltare to another view, the majestic volcano behind which hides Monte Somma. A lot of fascinating visits to this place, made even more impressive by the stories of his keeper that accompanies you to uncover the mysteries that bind this villa to Freemasonry and the Illuminati sect. Don't miss the terrace where you can admire the panorama of the city of Torre del Greco which boasts of the city Leopardi.

  • Beautiful and well maintained, unfortunately, not easy for everyone to reach. Beautiful views of the Gulf and the looming volcano. Leafless environments, but just the room decorated by Giacomo Leopardi to feel down in character. Passionate storyteller the friendly caretaker who, with his stories, twists it all school knowledge! At the end of the visit, one realizes that, perhaps, we kinda all "Leopards"! June 2016
