Scavi di Oplontis, Torre Annunziata

(4.7/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
Explore a villa frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius when you visit Scavi di Oplontis. See preserved murals and paintings on the walls, as well as intricate tiles and mosaics on the floor. Tour the gardens, see ruins and artifacts, and view the remains of people caught in the eruption and petrified in ash. Though much smaller than Pompeii or Herculaneum, this site will give you a good idea of how the upper class of Roman society lived, as well as a more intimate view of the architecture and style of their homes. Put Scavi di Oplontis and other Torre Annunziata attractions into our Torre Annunziata trip generator, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Really beautiful much better preserved than Pompeii sin which is unorganized and there you get with difficulties but that is a problem for all excavations that are located in those areas.

  • A. Visit very pleasant, although there was no crowds at Pompeii this month of January and more with the cold spell, is visit did it solo and immerses you completely in Roman times, much in contrast the size of this Villa with las.casas of Pompeii or Herculaneum

  • The lighting doesn't work long ago and until the problem is resolved is allowed visitors illuminate the frescoes with flashlights or cell phones. To anyone you are concerned about the damage that these lights can cause to them fresh? A shame!
