  • This was a boring museum, I can’t even understand why they had developed it. It could have told the story of the history of Torcello but it didn’t.
  • Many exhibits showing the early history of Torcello, the first inhabited island in the lagoon. We took advantage of the free entrance for EU citizens over 65 while we can.
  • Torcello is not to be missed, the Basilica, tower and museum are well worth the boat ride to reach this wonderful island full of surprises no matter where you look. Originally settled after fleeing Alin...  read more »
  • The small but interesting collection is divided between two buildings, the Palazzo dell’Archivio (archaeological finds from the mainland) and, in my opinion, the more interesting Palazzo del Consiglio (medieval artefacts, many of which come from the handful of churches and convents that once flourished on Torcello). The exhibits are well displayed with labels in both Italian and English.
  • Great little museum. I was very impressed with the collection and the use of technology. Way above expectations
  • Terrible Torcello. Quite boring.
  • If there are any in stock a few days visit to Torcello. Interesting will train on a boat, which will be held by the cemetery island of San Michele, then past the island of Murano glass, Burano lace island. Behind the blue and green colors will dissolve the lagoon of Venice. If you are lucky enough to be here in low season, you will feel peace and even puustynnost′ of this place. Few people here even in summer. Venice was built after the village on this island and it and killed. Residents left Torcello, founded back in the 5th century. Stayed here a few. Explore Santa fosca Church and a large Basilica of Torcello. Mosaic in them are very different from Ravennskih uproŝennost′û, ornamentalizmom, but this does not diminish their grandiosity. Great place. Meals can be enjoyed in any Cafe-them a little and they are cheaper than in Venice.

  • The Cathedral as we know it is beautiful and a must see, even the medieval town museum is very interesting, but the staff at the ticket office is downright incompetent and rude, they refused to apply the Convention with the carta Venezia Only arguing and writing about warnings that the reduction is only for holders of the Venice Card that no longer exists since a long time!
