  • Torcello is far, only worth going if you spare time, if you are interested in particularly the Romanesque period or if you want a weekend get away from the crowd. There are a couple of places to eat, regular price. In the Museum, they are pretty unpleasant, the truth, and I am sorry to say it. They give a few explanations.

  • I was quite confused, by what I saw at this small, tiny museum. It lacked organization, structure, cohesiveness. It was as if it did not have a purpose at all: a few, archaeological finds strewn about...  more »
  • Small museum, mostly outdoors, which houses the archaeological remains of prehistoric and early Christian, but also medieval remains and the modern era. Interesting to see is the stone throne is said to have been used by the King of the Huns, Attila.

  • Terrible Torcello. Quite boring.
  • Great little museum. I was very impressed with the collection and the use of technology. Way above expectations
  • The small but interesting collection is divided between two buildings, the Palazzo dell’Archivio (archaeological finds from the mainland) and, in my opinion, the more interesting Palazzo del Consiglio (medieval artefacts, many of which come from the handful of churches and convents that once flourished on Torcello). The exhibits are well displayed with labels in both Italian and English.
  • If there are any in stock a few days visit to Torcello. Interesting will train on a boat, which will be held by the cemetery island of San Michele, then past the island of Murano glass, Burano lace island. Behind the blue and green colors will dissolve the lagoon of Venice. If you are lucky enough to be here in low season, you will feel peace and even puustynnost′ of this place. Few people here even in summer. Venice was built after the village on this island and it and killed. Residents left Torcello, founded back in the 5th century. Stayed here a few. Explore Santa fosca Church and a large Basilica of Torcello. Mosaic in them are very different from Ravennskih uproŝennost′û, ornamentalizmom, but this does not diminish their grandiosity. Great place. Meals can be enjoyed in any Cafe-them a little and they are cheaper than in Venice.
