  • We were with family (2 teenage girls and a little girl) a cloudy morning with the idea to do a little walk and then a picnic. We did the trail, pleasant and not too long, but to our surprise once you get on top of the gate to the entrance to the sanctuary was closed! Could give indications in this sense at the ticket office of the caves in the parking place at the start of the path to the shrine!

  • After seeing the cave of toirano we went into this rock sanctuary Scott cave 'tourist' and it was beautiful, they took refuge during the war residents of the small village and there is a lot of graffiti left by humans in the last two centuries, a very lovely place!

  • The nicest thing about this Sanctuary half ruined the sanctuary itself is extreme poverty, small but with high religiosity and faith of loyal and devoted to Saint Lucia, perched on a mountain wall that extends past the statue of the Saint in origin, now closed to the recovery, in this cave. If you visit the caves of Toirano is a shame if possible not to visit the shrine within walking distance, but only during the summer, inquire about when open to the public thanks to volunteers who fight for his full recovery.

  • If you visit the caves of Toirano, don't miss a visit to the nearby sanctuary of Santa Lucia: there is a wonderful view and the walls inside the sanctuary, built at the mouth of a cave, are covered with graffiti and signatures left by visitors of all ages
