Where to stay in Tivoli

Tivoli is so close to Rome that you can easily explore it from one of the capital city's comfortable budget hotels. If you wish to stay in Tivoli itself, consider booking your room at a family-run inn, an affordable alternative to the area's more expensive big-chain hotels. Most of the city's hotels are located outside the historical town center, so if you want quick access to Tivoli's tourist sites, try to stay near a public bus or train station, or consider renting a car for the duration of your trip.

  • The Church is located in a quiet part of Tivoli, in the historical district. Before the visit, you can take advantage to take a look at the picturesque medieval area and the Gothic House close by, so that dive perfectly into the atmosphere. The frescoes are wonderful, even if natural light is not perfect to be able to enjoy (but if the weather is nice, you can do without paying the lighting). The evening closes at 19:00.

  • We visited this small church as we were preparing to go to the sanctuary of Hercules and walked out of curiosity, the Church as seen from the outside is a bit gaunt and also in is essential, we turned on the lights using a coins (€ 1) and we saw the medieval frescoes on the altar the beautiful but unfortunately kinda ruined, the nave is a bit bare and simple shortly after the entrance on the right there was a painting executed by flower arrangers from the parish of Alatri and was made with crushed flowers. Then the comparison with the churches of the historical centre of tivoli is unequal but anyway if you find yourself near them and you have time visit.

  • Striking this ancient Church on the main road through the village elder, at the bottom. Captures attention outward, with the characteristic square with fountain, the Romanesque façade with small steeple and churchyard, and inside the apse fresco substantial and ceiling. A short walk from there don't miss the Gothic House.

  • Very nice little church situated in the medieval district, which currently is used for ceremonies and classical music concerts. Contains interesting frescoes. As it is in a restricted traffic zone, you have to walk after going through the medieval part of Tivoli.

  • Little church in the historical centre of Tivoli. To see.

  • Medieval frescoes, sadly very neglected, are of extraordinary beauty

  • The payment does not work, and there's no way to get your euro. Having said that (unfortunate, indeed), the frescoes are really interesting and worth visiting and careful observation.
