  • If anyone gives always, or almost always, negative comments about the city of Taranto. The Martà Museum, located in the city centre, offers a real journey into the past. Reviving visitor experiences, emotions and to everyone, especially the events, happened in Taranto of the magna Greece. Not only for its "ori" (which I recommend everyone to observe carefully, for their uniqueness and refinement) but also because it gives us a moment of reflection. How this city, with the courses and the appeals of history, has become as you see it now.

  • We spent the entire morning and one hour in the afternoon to visit the Museum, has been attracted by the interest of exhibits. Any object is visible from all sides on the basis of modern and functional display. All sections are represented adequately, although I was particularly interested in the prehistoric and Greek with various forms. The Museum presents itself at last as a suitable place for exhibitions of great treasures, which the history of Taranto deserves. I recommend visiting at all, or not lovers of archeology, because the exhibits are not only cool objects and dumb, but tell stories of extraordinary beauty.

  • I was there last night for the first time! definitely a great experience! It's amazing how many archaeological finds there are in the Museum and much stocked and there is so much to explore! But I was sick for an unwelcome episode! Along with my husband we had tickets and climbed to the third floor to begin a visit to the Museum, time to enter the third floor show tickets and begin to admire the first statues following the path we approached a statue where there was a small group with a black-haired girl as a guide who was explaining in our view there has just asked to turn away because that was a guided tour! I was bewildered for a moment but my husband promptly answered that we had approached just to watch the statue or there was forbidden too? Miss will not have enjoyed my husband's response had not apologized for how little courteous as arose but not content just ran with the Group continued aloud to speak of what happened to other people by repeating several times that it was a very unpleasant but that these were the rules! I don't think this is a very proper and professional attitude because there are ways and ways of addressing the people! Despite myself I watched a lady who I believe was somewhat scolding security too excessive in my opinion a family with a young boy, I understand that it is not easy to remain vigilant by all and need to keep your eyes peeled, but then again there are ways and ways of addressing the people! I don't want to make the controversy and I hope they don't take it as a criticism, but constructive free! Because I was very satisfied with the Museum! But a pleasant little episode as this has left me a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and I wanted to do this! Thank you!

  • Nice and modern museum. Sadly more than half of exposition was closed. Beautiful collection but quite expensive (€8)
  • I was very pleasantly surprised to discover this beautiful and modern museum on my visit to Taranto. Exhibits that I found particularly interesting included the mosaic floors and the multi-faith exhibit that showed Taranto's rich cosmopolitan history. The museum staff were friendly and the facilities were very impressive.
  • My dream is to know that beautiful city. ..
  • Decent
  • Great place! I love history, too bad I didn't have enough time to see everything.
