  • When you think of a "museo diocesano" one is led to believe that it is a boring place to visit, full of clerical robes and vestments but, seeing is believing, that of Taranto is truly exceptional. Already the Palace is worth visiting: a building (ex seminar) of the sixteenth century, well restored, with a magnificent Atrium. The Museum offers art masterpieces, some of which are impressive, exposed in an orderly and functional, with clear captions. The use of precious materials, such as precious stones, ivory, fine linen, coral, make these masterpieces even more unique. Comprehensive explanation of the volunteers. To highlight the work done by the volunteers of the Italian Touring Club, group of Taranto, which allow that the place is open three days a week (Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays). For the groups would never exceed 15 units for spaces. I would complete the review this way: TARANTO: NOT ONLY MARTA (TAranto Archaeological Museum)

  • The MuDi is a very interesting place aesthetically, little known even by the TA. Against him playing erratic opening hours and poor publicity and its collection of religious art that often events that take place within the structure. One of the many events, stage sets for several years now, for example, fotoart, Apulian photography festival at MuDi has also brought Franco Fontana himself, filling the beautiful cloister of the Museum. I absolutely recommend a visit, enquiring before timetables of opening and closing.

  • Another gem in the old town of Taranto. Is like taking a step back in time in this old monastery. The boys who accompanied us were very nice and helpful with our questions. In my opinion deserves to be visited.
