Isola Bella, Taormina

Categories: Islands, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
3.8/5 based on 3,200+ reviews on the web
Once a private property, Isola Bella has been turned into a public nature preserve. Try to spot the several species of birds and lizards on this small island. Relax on the rocky beach or at the bar. The natural beauty of this spot has earned it the nickname "the pearl in the Ionian Sea." Bring shoes to wear on the beach; the stones can be uncomfortable to walk on. Our Taormina tour planner makes visiting Isola Bella and other Taormina attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • I visited Isola Bella in my last day of vacation in Taormina and I was enchanted by the breathtaking natural beauty ... a strip of sand that crosses the sea I also visited the natural history museum located on the opposite side of the island, where you can enjoy fantastic scenery, with terraces overlooking the sea!

  • Isola Bella really is beautifully situated at the foot of Taormina, but the beach is a pebble beach and not sand and hike out into the warm water is slippery. Better to sit in the shade and enjoy life instead.

  • Isola Bella is accessed via a staircase from the SS114 (narrow and busy) overlooking the island and drops down to the beach. Magical place, especially suitable for boat trips to the caves located nearby.
