Corso Umberto, Taormina
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Take a leisurely walk through the city’s famous traffic-free Corso Umberto, a relatively short but very picturesque street lined by numerous small shops, cafes, bars, and art galleries. The busy street is almost always packed with a vibrant crowd either shopping or looking for a place to eat. Most restaurants and shops located in this pedestrian district are geared entirely to the masses of tourists who flock to this part of the country during the peak of the season. Give yourself plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere and mingle with the idling locals hanging out at the many sidewalk cafes. Though many of the shops here sell the usual souvenirs found in most tourist-driven cities, you can also find one-of-a-kind items, including ceramics and paintings created by local artists. Add Corso Umberto and other attractions to your Taormina trip itinerary using our Taormina family vacation planner.
