Must see · Island · Nature / Park
Ortigia is the historic city center of Syracuse on the island of Sicily. Connected to the main island by a series of three bridges, this small island features the majority of Syracuse's cultural and artistic heritage, spanning more than 2,500 years of history. Meander through the narrow alleyways admiring the mix of medieval architecture and Roman ruins. You'll see the ancient Temple of Apollo and the city's main cathedral, which was built using remains from the Temple of Athena. Try to stop by island's outdoor market, where you can buy local goods and handmade products. • An enchanted piece of land
  • Nice to stroll around town
  • Beautiful alleys, nice restaurants and shops, sea.. what else do you need? Very very safe, been there twice.
  • The historical port and old city of Syracuse is the wonderful island of Ortigia. From the island you get to see sunrise on one side, walk 100 nts and get sunset on the other. So many wonderful bars and trattoria, and unique places to stay. Stay a week if you can.
