  • Very informative well laid out displays in small charming space (ex-convent?) by passionate individual-make the subject fascinating. Film at start of visit as well as free booklet in English accompany...  more »
  • Absolutely worth visiting. The Museum is housed in a former convent in 1670 and is dedicated entirely on papyrus plant and its uses. Admission for students is only 2 euros. SPECTACULAR

  • An ancient culture that is still kept alive today thanks to this museum. With the visit we saw from the story of its origins, when it was brought to Syracuse, until its varied use. Are documents, artifacts and even boats made with the use of this raw material. Even today it is possible to view Papyrus born in abundance on Aretusa Fountain.

  • Quieter interesting but not small museum.
  • Really good museum with good exhibition telling the history of papyrus, and modern efforts to reconstruct ancient techniques. Housed in a nice building with actual research ongoing and the pre eminent scholar in the field in the museum.
  • Google Maps photo does not match the Museo del Papiro "Corrado Basile"

  • A museum seemingly modest, actually expressing a high level of study and research, as well as passion and initiative!
