  • The complex of the Annunciation is there ahead of everybody, in the middle of c.so Ovid, has four inputs at the front, dominated by the Windows Windows of Gothic art with rosettes. Whenever you cross c.so Ovidio you can't help but stop charmed by such beauty. Construction commencement 1320, the intentions were most church hospital, but the changes are noticed and are there. Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture, but it also highlights the late Gothic track. You have to look at it with four eyes, there are many masterpieces that comprise it and almost go unnoticed: median portal with tympanum of the Madonna and child between 4 adoring angels, the aisles inside the Church with so many marbles and pillars wooden carved and gilded Dome, Rococo style, paintings by Simoncelli, the chapel of James Spain, outside the watch of 1700. Beautiful bell tower nearly 70 meters. see the whole city. How many arts and how many famous masters participated in the construction and reconstruction after earthquake (1700) of the complex of the Annunciation. Visitors stop and look calmly and patiently, estasiatevi of such beauty and bring the memory of Sulmona and of the whole of the Annunciation.

  • No doubt is the most majestic and town architecture of Visual impact that combines late Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements of the ancient monastery and the Church. The Windows of the upper floor and the parade of statues on the other pillars representing the four doctors of the Church and St. Panfilo, one with in a model of the Church in his hands. Don't forget to enter in the town museum, in the beautiful courtyard and in the Baroque church. Essential visiting this site if you go to Sulmona!
