  • I live near the Abbey and I had visited some years ago. Yesterday, on the occasion of the spring day of DOING, I came back. Work is underway to restoration of the structure, the complex consists of the Church, the "casa del Massaro", two trappiti (oil mills), lectorum and a citrus grove is returning to its former glory in about 1000 years after its foundation. A jewel, for too long, forgotten and forlorn. The site, at first in the South granted to the FAI, is normally open to visitors even during the restoration

  • Thanks to the FAI and restoration that is in progress, this gem is returning to its former glory. Despite the work and scaffolding, the Church is perfectly usable. Maybe the façade is not, but inside the scaffolding does not disturb too much. In addition you can admire the citrus grove, the oil mill and other halls/buildings including another mill and the remains of a mill. The entrance is free, but it is suggested a quota of 4 € in order to contribute to the restoration. At 10 minutes from Lecce, is a nice daytrip.

  • Pity that the two people there, none on either proposal to help guide. They thus justified the request for 4 euros of contribution
