  • It just seems, looking at a map that the Basilica is far from the city. Walk here brought a lot of fun. The approach to the temple already quite substantial-road, lush and majestic staircase. Go here for the sake of costs already only one façade is a unique example of Romanesque architecture with bas-reliefs on the theme of the life of St. Peter. A very rare decision façade. Something similar occurs to me only at the Cathedral in Modena.

  • St Peter's Church is visible from any vantage point or fortress at the bridge across the Canyon. The temple is located in a wonderfully picturesque location, surrounded by green hills and solitude. Walking here from the Centre of Spoleto took about half an hour. It was founded in the 5th century, the façade has been preserved from the 12th century. The Interior is much more recent times in the Baroque style.

  • This church is located outside the city walls. To reach her best by car. 12 century Church in a typical Romanesque style tells us a story with Peter. What is striking in these plastic Romanesque reliefs. Such facades I have not seen in other cities of Italy and other countries. Very many sculptural images of animals. Sculpture differs from the more Gothic and Renaissance. But that's the beauty of this primitive sculptures of the middle ages.
