  • Begs, of course, explain the name of the square so that it is the fountain. Actually the square bears the name of Pietro Fontana (1775-1854) is the most important person of Spoleto-gonfalon′era, politician and historian of art. The area is small and quite cozy.

  • Piero square Fountain we passed on the way to the archaeological museum and the Church of San S. Ansano and Arch of Drusus. The fountain in the middle of the Maccabees, in one of the surrounding Palazzo-city library and literary cafes. Area-it is loud. A small cozy cubicle. People not at all.

  • In Piazza Pietro Fountain stands the Fountain of the Maccabees (in the gruesome Israeli were hammered) who is here from 800, whereas before it was in piazza Pianciani. The fountain, made with sheets of recovery of the ancient Market Square fountain. Also in the square you will find Palazzo Mauri, a prestigious building of the 17th century, where today is located the municipal library, with salt, on the upper floor, with beautiful decorations.

  • This castle looks better at night. But you can only go inside during the day. So maybe spend some time inside before it closes, then go out and walk around the walls during the night.
  • Well preserved medieval village
