  • A normal tree-lined square with benches, nothing particularly attractive if you bypass the town hall with beautiful fa├žade with double Lancet Windows and Gothic doorways and fountain of 1500. It's a square of transit which, as I understand it, will soon be subject to redevelopment work.

  • Like all the piazza's in Perugia, the Piazza della Repubblica always seems to have something going on. From market stalls to merry-go-rounds. It's a great place to have a coffee or glass of wine at on...  more »
  • Spello a former Roman fortress town deserves better. Many cars are now using the main square "Piazza della Repubblica". During the Roman period was on this square the headquarters. Spello is known as a beautiful little city of flowers. Actually offer the Piazza more possibilities for tourists and locals alike. Replace the parking spaces by more green and couches and you have as a haven of peace. Sorry if you know you just outside the town parking lot. Yet the trouble getting from this square which is centrally located to discover the rich floral displays along old fortress walls. Please bear in mind along the old city gate "Torri di Properzio e Porta Venere" hiking = Roman architecture.
