Villa di Pollio Felice - Bagni della Regina Giovanna, Sorrento

#1 of 18 in Parks in Sorrento
Beach · Nature / Park
Search out the little-known beautiful swimming hole at Villa di Pollio Felice - Bagni della Regina Giovanna, a natural pool of clear water hidden next to the ancient ruins of a Roman villa. The pool's location is a little difficult to find, but ask the locals for directions and watch for a narrow cobblestone sidewalk. The path leads you to the site, where a hole in the rocks lets the sea fill the pool with turquoise water. Swimming here is allowed and encouraged; on a hot day the cold water feels particularly refreshing. Extend your visit by renting a boat at Sorrento and touring the area. You can even go fishing and keep the day's catch for lunch. • This place is just beautiful and great to swim in. You can walk from Sorrento’s city center (around 45min) or take a bus. We loved this place because it was a wild nature spot. It is full of rocks...  more »
  • The walk took us about 15 minutes, but when we got there the view was amazing, the place wasn't to crowded, the water was really nice and we found out a few great diving spots!  more »
  • We enjoyed taking a picnic down at the water enjoying the sea breeze and natural beauty. The sea was rough for swimming but did feel cool on a hot day. Best to bring water shoes but we managed...  more »
  • One of the best spot in Sorrento! In the same place you can find Roman villa ruins, beautiful rocky beach, incredible view!
  • This bath was where the queen Giovanna took her baths in secret with her lovers away from Naples. This place is beautiful to take a bath in clear crystal water without waves. There's a path to get near the water. There's a roman ruin in the front of it where you can walk through. Loved it
  • Beautiful views away from the hustle bustle and all the traffic. You can really clearly see Vesuvius from here too! And of course, you can see Sorrento’s marina grande. A lovely place to just let time pass away...
  • Well worth the the walk to this spot. Take your swim gear and be prepared to find a small place to change and then dry off as space is limited. Amazing history, great place to swim and take in the views.
  • The beach had a very nice vibe. There were plenty of young people enjoying the view. It’s very rocky so reef shoes are nice to have .
