Villa di Pollio Felice - Bagni della Regina Giovanna, Sorrento

Beach Nature / Park
Search out the little-known beautiful swimming hole at Villa di Pollio Felice - Bagni della Regina Giovanna, a natural pool of clear water hidden next to the ancient ruins of a Roman villa. The pool's location is a little difficult to find, but ask the locals for directions and watch for a narrow cobblestone sidewalk. The path leads you to the site, where a hole in the rocks lets the sea fill the pool with turquoise water. Swimming here is allowed and encouraged; on a hot day the cold water feels particularly refreshing. Extend your visit by renting a boat at Sorrento and touring the area. You can even go fishing and keep the day's catch for lunch. Where to stay in Sorrento

Sorrento's seaside hotels offer an ideal base for exploring the Amalfi Coast and the nearby archeological sites. Staying right on the water's edge also means being mere minute from the historical town center, popular beaches, and Sorrento's famous harbor. For a quieter experience just a little farther away from the sea, book your stay at a private hostel or B&B. Many family-run inns in the residential neighborhoods offer access to private swimming pools and manicured yards, with secure parking.

  • It's pretty much an open air grotto, the area is so wide you could fit 50 people here and everyone would have space. But high chance since it's so out of the way you'll see a max of ten. Make sure to bring a swimsuit and walking shoes cause it's a bit of a hike to get here but worth the trip for the view.
  • The cove is beautiful! Just the right spot for watching the sun set. The place is easy to get to but the wooden walk is in need of repair and is currently closed off:-(
  • The view of the Amalfi Coast is impeccable from this spot. You can see the entire coast from one spot. It's magical.
  • Amazing little find. Worth the walk from Sorrento (buses available)
  • Amazing swimming. The cove is awesome.
