Villa di Pollio Felice - Bagni della Regina Giovanna, Sorrento
(4.7/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Search out the little-known beautiful swimming hole at Villa di Pollio Felice - Bagni della Regina Giovanna, a natural pool of clear water hidden next to the ancient ruins of a Roman villa. The pool's location is a little difficult to find, but ask the locals for directions and watch for a narrow cobblestone sidewalk. The path leads you to the site, where a hole in the rocks lets the sea fill the pool with turquoise water. Swimming here is allowed and encouraged; on a hot day the cold water feels particularly refreshing. Extend your visit by renting a boat at Sorrento and touring the area. You can even go fishing and keep the day's catch for lunch. • consisting of a natural pool to dive means trace the exploits of ancient Roman Aristocrat Pollio Felice or those of Queen Joan II of Naples

  • in another town would have reason to visit here, there are so many things that goes almost unnoticed. The ruins of an ancient Roman villa literally fantastic sea, a bit of carelessness on the part of visitors and authorities.

  • Dear travelers, my friend and I stayed in Naples but decided to go to Sorrento by train (2 euros), and once there fell in love with the place. We are walking and exploring, this find this natural paradise in the outskirts of Sorrento. It was not a simple trip as you will see in the video, it almost killed us across a rickety bridge, but it was worth it. I recommend it strongly.

  • Old roman Villa, but really the swimming site is what you go there for. Plus points: great cliffs for jumping, sheltered seaspot, warm seawater, lot of Fish under the cliffs, some big old roman Villa. Minus points: only cliffs(swimmingsshoes are a must), can be very crowded in weekend, only accessable by foot, plastics in the water.
  • Lovely little spot! A little off the beaten path, but totally worth it. You can swim under the arch and you will find yourself in the open ocean. Wow!
  • If you're in Sorrento and it's warm enough to swim, you must visit this place. It is a gorgeous cove tucked way down a dirt and gravel road. It's so secluded you may only see 2 or 3 other people. The water is gorgeous and the views at the top can't be beat. You can walk here from town if you're in good shape, but taxis will also take you here (although they're pricy for the distance".
  • Great place to swim. We went in April and there were no people here. Water was a bit cold but again, we did go in April.
  • Beautiful place, great possibilities to jump of the rocks into the water.
