La Solara, Sorrento

4.5
#4 of 8 in Beaches in Sorrento
Beach Nature / Park
With a backdrop of rocky cliffs and a wealth of opportunities for aquatic activities, it's no surprise that La Solara stands as one of the area's most popular beaches. The extensive stretch of soft sand makes for plenty of room to kick back and enjoy the sun. Alternatively, bring your swimsuit and hit the ocean, as the surrounding coves and rocky outcroppings are ideal for snorkeling and paddling alike. Try hiking around the nearby shoreline, and you may even discover some of the region's famous--yet understated--Roman ruins. Nearby food and drink options let you refuel after your time on the shore. Where to stay in Sorrento

Sorrento's seaside hotels offer an ideal base for exploring the Amalfi Coast and the nearby archeological sites. Staying right on the water's edge also means being mere minute from the historical town center, popular beaches, and Sorrento's famous harbor. For a quieter experience just a little farther away from the sea, book your stay at a private hostel or B&B. Many family-run inns in the residential neighborhoods offer access to private swimming pools and manicured yards, with secure parking.

  • We stumbled on this place after walking to the Villa di Pollio Felice. What a treasure to find. The bar staff were super friendly and the food and drinks we had were great. The music was pretty loud when we got there around 6pm and there was a youthful crowd, sunbathing. You can swim in the sea off the rocks from here and the sunset is worth any trek you might make to get here.
